Moreirense and Porto are to resume their Taca de Portugal fourth round fixtures when they meet at the Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas on Sunday.

This will be the second cup face off between the two sides in the last four weeks, with the Dragoes winning by a two goal margin in the Taca da Liga quarter final match on October 30.

He hit envy of the hour in their last league game before the break when Moreirense came from two goals down to beat Gil Vicente 3-2 at the Parque de Jogos Comendador Joaquim de Almeida Freitas in a 22-minute blitz.

Tidjany Toure and Jorge Agurirre both found the net to ensure the home side was 2-0 down as the match entered the last 30 minutes, but the fight back started when Schettine, Dinis Pinto and Asue got on the scoresheet in 27 minutes.

That saw Moreirense suffer three consecutive losses in their last three games and was followed by a 2-0 loss to Porto in the Taca da Liga on the 31 st of October, three days before a 1-0 defeat to Vitoria de Guimaraes when they returned to league football.

Cesar Peixoto men have been able to secure 5 of the 11 games of the Primeira Liga with 4 losses and 2 draws earning 17 points and earning the 8th position on the list with the same points as Famalicao 7th.

Moreirense are now able to focus on the Taca de Portugal, during which they only had a close win in their first match as they had to come from behind to beat third division side Uniao Santarem 2-1 in the third round on October 19, Bernardo Martins and Guilherme Schettine scoring for Moreirense.

On October 20, Vitor Bruno's team, presently ranked second in the Primeira Liga rankings, would play again in the Taca de Portugal. They easily defeated Sintrense in the third round, defeating the Campeonato de Portugal team 3-0 to end their championship defense.

Wanderson Galeno, Ivan Jaime, and Tiago Djalo all scored goals at the Estadio Jose Gomes to give Porto a fantastic start to their title defense after they defeated Sporting Lisbon 2-1 in extra time in the May final.

When the Dragoes play a team that has lost all five of their previous meetings and hasn't won in 15 games since a 3-1 triumph in May 2017, they will be rooting for themselves to put an end to the trend this weekend.

Portuguese attacker Hernani Infande, who has been sidelined since suffering a ligament injury in March's match against Arouca, will be a hardship for Moreirense.

Schettine has already contributed four goals in his previous six games with his goal against Gil Vicente, and we anticipate that the summer acquisition will lead the home team's assault this weekend.
