Liverpool made a spectacular comeback to defeat AC Milan 3-1 at the San Siro to earn their spot in the Champions League.

After a shocking 1-0 loss to Nottingham Forest at home on Saturday, Slot's team entered the match with the first doubts about the Dutchman's leadership, and when Pulisic scored, the alarms truly went up. However, the reaction was positive.

After that, Liverpool was the better team, and it seemed certain that they would win as soon as they tied the score. It was a polished performance and a significant turning point for Slot—the first indication of a rival this season vanquished in style in Milan.

Liverpool's flawless reaction in response

On his 46th birthday, Slot was especially happy with how his players responded after falling behind early in the match. "I believe that was a plus because when your team is behind 1-0, you always want to know how they will respond," the Liverpool manager said to Amazon.

"But I believe we demonstrated our skill in playing with the ball. It seems inconceivable that you can lose at home against Forest if you can play this brilliantly today, even if the term "disgrace" may be overused.

Van Dijk mentioned that Nottingham Forest loss as well. "We were excellent after the start," the skipper of Liverpool remarked. "After the weekend, we were obviously pretty dissatisfied in a lot of ways. However, we did take the opportunity to make things right."

Gakpo made an outstanding play on the left to bring up the third goal, but Slot claimed that the night's focus was more on the team's performance than on any individual players. The Dutch winger continued, "I am really happy with the assist and especially the win."
