Looking to break a two-game streak without a win at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal, who lead the Premier League, will face Chelsea in an enticing London derby on Tuesday.

Arsenal claimed the top spot with a 2-0 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday, shortly after Chelsea's self-inflicted exit from the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

After suffering their first Premier League defeat of 2024 at home against Aston Villa, followed by a loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-finals, Arsenal needed a strong comeback. They achieved just that with a win against Wolverhampton Wanderers, with goals from Leandro Trossard and Martin Odegaard securing the victory.

This win not only set a new club record of keeping six straight clean sheets on the road in the Premier League but also propelled Arsenal back to the top of the league, surpassing Manchester City as they fulfilled their FA Cup commitments.

Mikel Arteta's team aims to extend their lead over Manchester City to four points with a win against Chelsea, as City doesn't play again until Thursday. Arsenal hasn't lost consecutive home games in the Premier League since April 2022 and hasn't suffered back-to-back top-flight defeats at the Emirates without scoring since November 2020.

On the other hand, Chelsea, after a lengthy break, faced Manchester City in the FA Cup, but despite a commendable performance, they failed to score, losing 1-0. This added to their manager Mauricio Pochettino's wait for a trophy in English football.

Chelsea's inconsistency was evident, contrasting their previous Premier League match where they defeated Everton 6-0. Despite this, they remain ninth in the standings due to their eight-game unbeaten run. They aim to bounce back and secure a European spot as the season comes to a close.

The last encounter between Arsenal and Chelsea ended in a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, extending Arsenal's unbeaten run against Chelsea to four games, including a 3-1 victory at the Emirates last season.
