Colombia and Bolivia, two teams competing in this summer's Copa America, will face off in a friendly on Saturday night in Connecticut.

With Bolivia's most recent match ending in a 3-1 loss to Ecuador, and Colombia coming off a spectacular 5-1 triumph over the United States, both teams are wrapping up their preparations for the Copa America, which officially begins on June 20.

Colombia will come into the friendly on Saturday fresh off a 5-1 victory over the United States, extending La Tricolor's winning streak to seven games across all competitions.

Nestor Lorenzo's team has remained undefeated for over two years, positioning them as strong contenders for the Copa America title this summer.

Colombia will kick off their campaign against Paraguay on June 24, followed by matches against Costa Rica and Brazil in the group stage.

La Tricolor has secured third place in two of their last three tournament appearances and won the championship in 2001. While a title challenge this summer is plausible, Argentina and Brazil are the natural favorites to claim the trophy next month.

Colombia hasn't lost to Bolivia since September 2003 and achieved a 3-0 victory in their most recent encounter in March 2022.

In their match against the United States, Colombia scored three goals through second-half replacements Jorge Carrascal, Luis Sinisterra, and Richard Rios.

However, with players like Luis Diaz, Jhon Arias, and James Rodriguez playing in the attacking positions, all three may once again start on the bench.

The 28-year-old Rafael Santos Borre, who led the line against the United States the previous time out, is expected to play in the final third of the field while Jefferson Lerma is expected to stay in central midfield.

Head coach Zago may start the same lineup for Bolivia as they did against Ecuador this time around, then make six changes in the second half.

Bolivia has managed just one victory in their last 16 encounters with Colombia. However, the result of this match isn't crucial, as head coach Antonio Carlos Zago is prioritizing his team's preparation for their Copa America opener.

La Verde will kick off their campaign against the United States on June 23, followed by group stage matches against Uruguay and Panama.

Bolivia claimed the Copa America title in 1963 and were runners-up in 1997, but they have been knocked out in the group stage in the last three tournaments.

Only once in their last nine appearances have La Verde advanced beyond the first round, highlighting the challenge they face in progressing to the knockout stages.

Bolivia has lost four of their last five matches, including recent friendly defeats to Mexico and Ecuador. However, they did secure a victory against Andorra in a friendly match at the end of March.
