On Tuesday night, Mallorca and Sevilla, who have both drawn a blank in their first two La Liga games of the 2024–25 season, will square off at Estadi Mallorca Son Moix.

Mallorca will go into the match fresh from a 1-0 loss to Osasuna, while Sevilla lost their opening game of the new season 2-1 at home to Villarreal.

In their first La Liga game of the new season, Mallorca held the defending champions Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw; however, they were unable to build on that encouraging performance in their second match of the campaign.

In fact, Jagoba Arrasate's team comes into this game coming off a 1-0 loss to Osasuna, where Ruben Garcia scored the game's lone goal early in the second half at El Sadar.

The Pirates, who defeated the other team 1-0 in this match during the 2023–24 season, will be keen to turn things around in their second home game of the year.

Johan Mojica, Takuma Asano, and Mateu Morey are the only three players Mallorca has brought in this summer to bolster the roster; Predrag Rajkovic has left for Saudi Arabia.

The Palma team, who were 15th in the Spanish top division the previous season, will travel to Leganes at the end of August before playing at home against Villarreal following the international break.

In contrast, Sevilla has only gained one point in their first two league games of the year, that coming on August 16 against Las Palmas.

Garcia Pimienta's team comes into this match fresh off a 2-1 loss to Villarreal at home. At Estadio Ramon, it looked as though the points would be split after Dodi Lukebakio cancelled out Arnaut Danjuma's opening goal, but Ayoze Perez gave the Yellow Submarine the victory in the 95th minute.

This summer, Sevilla has signed eight players in total. However, there have also been some significant exits, the largest of which being Youssef En-Nesyri to Fenerbahce.

Last season, Los Nervionenses finished in 14th place in Spain's top division, which was their lowest finish since they were demoted at the end of the 1999–2000 season.

However, Sevilla has had the better of recent encounters with Mallorca, winning three of the last four league encounters, including a 2-1 victory at Estadio Ramon in April of this year.
