In the third round of Turkish Super Lig fixtures Caykur Rizespor will host Fenerbahce at the Caykur Didi Stadium on Sunday.

The two sides have both been on fine form to the season and Rizespor is on a run of victories while Fenerbahce has been struggling in recent games.

Caykur Rizespor provided spirited entertainment in their first season back in Turkish Super Lig last season, and ended the campaign in a worthy ninth place after having fallen off towards the end of the year under Ilhan Palut.

Black Sea Sparrowhawk have began the new campaign well, with a 1-1 against Istanbul Basaksehir on the first match and recently had a remarkable 2-1 victory against Adana Demirspor.

Husniddin Aliqulov and Ali Sowe scored for Rizespor and managed to get their first victorious result despite of Yousef Barasi’s goal at the last twenty seconds of the match.

Fenerbahce are one of the seven teams in the Super Lig that have more than a win and no loss and they will be looking forward to solidifying on this supremacy against the Black Sea Sparrowhawk.

However, it is a monumental task ahead of Rizespor who had not beaten Fenerbahce in their previous 10 fixtures across all football competitions staging the last triumph against the Yellow Canaries in the 2018/2019 Turkey league encounter.

Thus, Rizespor started the current championship without a single home defeat in six consecutive games, but having lost to the ‘guests’ in February.

However, Fenerbahces main objective would be to carry on their supremacy over their rivals in this match following two consecutive draws in all competitions.

Jose Mourinho’s side is in the danger of giving unconvincing performance after being held to 1-1 draw by Lille in the Champions League and another 2-2 draw against Goztepe.

Fenerbahce also lead 2-0 in this match against Goztepe but threw away a rich two goals lead to end the draw, while this result will be shocking to the Yellow Canaries who failed to unseat Galatasaray last season.

Cathro has a largely healthy roster for Sunday's match because the home team did not sustain any injuries during the defeat to Vitoria.

Gameweek two saw Gil Vicente avoid any fresh injury concerns, and they may start with a same lineup on Sunday—despite Sandro Cruz's ambitions to return to left-back at Kazu's cost following a one-match punishment for his sending-off against Porto.

The visiting squad will be hoping for another strong showing from Fujimoto, who impressed last week with three goals in the 4-2 victory against AVS.

In order to prevent more pressure from the Fenerbahce supporters, Mourinho and his players must defeat Rizespor. They are eager to break their two-match losing run away from home in all competitions.
Dal Varesanovic will play behind Caykur Rizespor center-forward Sowe, who scored his first goal of the season last time out. Sowe is set to stay in the starting lineup.

Benhur Keser, a left winger, had a tendon tear earlier this month and will be out until November.

Due to a ligament injury, Fred is not anticipated to return to play until next month, thus he will be sidelined for the visitors.
