Stuttgart's Road to the Final
Stuttgart earned their spot in the final after a dominant 4-2 victory over Arminia Bielefeld in the DFB-Pokal back in May. The scoreline might suggest a tight match, but Stuttgart were actually cruising with a 4-0 lead before an 85th-minute own goal gave Arminia Bielefeld a late consolation.
While their domestic season was a mixed bag, with a ninth-place finish after a second-place finish the previous year, Stuttgart's attack was on fire at the end of the season. They scored 12 goals in their final four league games and have continued that momentum in the preseason, netting 15 goals in four friendlies. However, their home form at MHPArena hasn’t been great, with seven losses and just three wins in their last 10 competitive matches there.
Bayern Munich's Dominance
Under new boss Vincent Kompany, Bayern Munich reclaimed their place at the top of German football, finishing 13 points clear of second-placed Bayer Leverkusen. Their offense was a powerhouse, scoring 99 goals in the league—the joint second-highest since 1971-72. They were just as strong on defense, giving up only 32 goals, their best defensive record since 2017-18.
Bayern heads into the match with a strong record against Stuttgart, having won four of their last five meetings. Although they recently lost 1-0 to Bologna in a pre-season friendly, they’ve won 10 of their last 13 matches across all competitions and were undefeated in their final 11 away games last season.

For Stuttgart, look out for center-backs Luca Jaquez and Julian Chabot anchoring the defense. Midfielders Angelo Stiller and Atakan Karazor will be key in controlling possession, while strikers Deniz Undav and Nick Woltemade will lead the attack, supported by wingers Jamie Leweling and Chris Fuhrich.
On the Bayern side, new signing Jonathan Tah is expected to start in central defense alongside Dayot Upamecano.
