Guerreiro and Muller scored in the second half to help Bayern to a 2-0 win over Cologne at Allianz Arena. The Bavarians started the first half slowly but improved as the first 45 minutes progressed, creating an xG of 1.45 before the break. Kane and Tel went close, both hitting the right post with Guerreiro also denied the opener when his one-on-one effort was pushed away by Schwabe. However, the Portugal international wasn’t going to be stopped a second time after the restart and broke the deadlock emphatically. He collected Kimmich’s corner on the edge of the box and whipped his effort across the goal and into the left corner. Musiala came off the bench and lifted two shots over the bar before Muller confirmed the win with a late strike. He made the most of a defensive mishap and whipped his strike into the bottom-left corner. Bayern will turn their attention to their Champions League quarter-final second leg against Arsenal, where a win would see them progress to the semi-final, before going to Union Berlin in the Bundesliga, where their slim chance of retaining the title could already be over. As for Cologne, they host bottom-of-the-league Darmstadt next up. That’s all, goodbye.
