Chelsea's 8-0 victory over Noah of the Armenian Premier League at Stamford Bridge solidified their place atop the Conference League group table in spectacular way.

It was the largest victory in the brief history of the competition, surpassing Nordsjaelland's 7-1 triumph over Ludogorets in the group stage the previous season.

Joao Felix's missed open goal from inside the six-yard box did little to calm early nerves, and Chelsea, who had already defeated Gent and Panathinaikos in their first two European games of the season, were nearly taken aback within three minutes when Goncalo Gregorio was given space to pump a shot at Filip Jorgensen.

The match then turned out to be the mismatch that many had anticipated. Tosin headed in Enzo Fernandez's corner with ease, and Marc Guiu was there to nip in and double the lead seconds after the restart when Noah sloppily gave the ball away.

Mykhailo Mudryk added a fifth with a sumptuous curling finish, and Felix made amends for his earlier error by coolly clipping over custodian Ognjen Chancharevich after Axel Disasi headed in another corner.

At halftime, Felix miraculously got the ball from Disasi, cut inside his man and blasted a shot that deflected across the line. It was six.

After the interval, the Blues seemed to be less motivated, which makes sense considering that the game was already decided by then. Christopher Nkunku had already touched the top of the crossbar with a ferocious shot with just over 21 minutes remaining, but his initial attempt had been saved, and he found the net from a tight angle.

After a VAR review verified that Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall had been fouled in the box, Nkunku hammered home a penalty, adding even more glitz to an already remarkable evening in west London.

Maresca: We had to be prepared because football is full of surprises. Enzo Maresca, head coach of Chelsea:

"The players once again demonstrated their professionalism and seriousness. In these kinds of games, it's incredibly easy to trip or fall. Surprises abound in football. Before the game, I wanted them to demonstrate our professionalism and level of seriousness, and I believe they did. We should all take note of this vital message.

"You may easily lose against any team if you are not psychologically prepared and do not take it seriously. The most crucial thing is that we are professional, we are serious, and this is what we needed to demonstrate tonight."

"We consider Misha, we consider all of them every game," Mudryk said when asked about his chances of starting in the Premier League. Because we have twenty-four and twenty-five players, we always attempt to select the eleven that we believe to be the greatest.

"What matters is that Misha keeps getting better, like she did tonight. He had some terrific moments and scored a beautiful goal.

Regarding Tyrique George's complete debut: "I believe he was excellent. As I mentioned before the game, it's sometimes preferable to let young players know they're starting the day before so they can get ready, but for some, it's better to let them know close to the game so they don't feel anxious.

"We knew already Tyrique was going to start, but I just told him two hours before the game and I think he was very good."

Mota: Rui Mota, the Noah manager, said that we lost control of the game.

"We didn't get off to the best start, then we gave up two goals in a short period of time, and we began to lose control and create too many gaps.

"We started to give up a lot of goals and lost all control of the game in the first half because we made a lot of mistakes, which is not typical for our squad and when you are playing against guys who are so excellent that they only need one chance to score one goal.

"When you are behind 6-0, it is difficult to rally in the second half, but the players showed resiliency and made an effort to salvage the match. We had a few scoring opportunities, and the thing that saddens me the most is that we might have scored one or two goals with the attacking play we produced.

Best wishes to Chelsea. We just need to move on; they were really strong.
