Crystal Palace 4-0 Man Utd: According to Jamie Carragher, Erik ten Hag's club is among the Premier League's worst-coached groups.
Following errors that resulted in two goals from Michael Olise, Jamie Carragher thinks that United is among the "most poorly coached teams in the Premier League" and that Casemiro "should call it a day at the top level"
After losing 2-0 at the half to goals from Michael Olise and Jean-Philippe Mateta, Erik ten Hag's team reached new lows in a far from stellar season. The former then completed the score after Tyrick Mitchell scored after the interval.
United faces the possibility of not playing in Europe again next season after giving up 81 goals in all competitions this season—their highest total in a single campaign since 1977.
Only Nottingham Forest has suffered more Premier League away game losses by at least four goals since the beginning of the previous season than United has on three separate occasions.
"Only one of the worst-coached teams in the Premier League," Carragher declared during Monday Night Football on Sky Sports.
"That is a reality. That isn't a viewpoint. That is true. When you see them defensively at the bottom of the league, lower than Sheffield United, the data confirm it.
Though I believed Palace would win one or two goals to nil, I found it difficult to understand how United would win tonight. There should be no Manchester United team losing to Crystal Palace 4-0.
Both Olise's first and last goals for Palace came from mistakes made by Casemiro, the center defender. First, he failed to challenge for the Frenchman's goal, and then he gave the ball away to Daniel Munoz in the build-up to Olise's second.
When analyzing Monday Night Football's opening goal, Carragher demanded that Casemiro be replaced at halftime due to his "embarrassing" part in it. "To be honest, nothing can be worse than Casemiro playing center-half for Manchester United," Carragher said.
"Watching a fantastic talent play like way is disheartening. We've all been there, but considering that he's only thirty-two, his gaming accomplishments pale in comparison."
