Bayer 04 Leverkusen recorded their 10th Bundesliga win in a row against Werder Bremen last time out, a club record. In their 5-0 win against Bremen, the Werkself also achieved their joint-highest Bundesliga win under Xabi Alonso (also 5-0 against Union Berlin in November 2022).

They have already suffered four home league defeats this season – only in 2014-15 (5) have had more in the last 15 seasons.
