Jurgen Klopp looks set to be replaced by Feyenoord boss Arne Slot this summer and the Kop manager is open to a chat if the new man in the Anfield dugout needs it
The legendary Reds leader, who is so adored on Merseyside, is expected to be replaced by the head coach of Feyenoord when he succeeds Klopp in the upcoming season.
In Klopp's penultimate home game, Tottenham visits Anfield on Sunday. The Liverpool supporters are expected to honor the 56-year-old and express gratitude for his services once more before saying goodbye to him two weeks later in the season's final match against Wolves.
However, despite leaving for new pastures, Klopp still intends to support Liverpool and Slot in any way he can. He has reached out and told his successor that he will be available for assistance at any time.
"It is not my decision," Klopp responded when questioned about Liverpool's selection procedure for a new head coach. "I'm not qualified to offer guidance. I have my phone number on file, so anyone around the globe can call me when they are new.
"In this club, we can talk about anything and everything. I enjoy talking about everything." I have no trouble chatting with anyone; I like doing so. But it's not my concern or my responsibility to be available to ask him or her. It won't be an issue; I'll share what I know.
Liverpool can let off the gas and enjoy the final three games of the campaign without fear of repercussions because they are unable to build on their Carabao Cup victory from this season and have already secured their spot in the Champions League for next year.
