It's all over in Palma, and the champions elect Real Madrid escape Mallorca with a 1-0 win by the slimmest of margins!! Tchouameni's deflected strike from distance put Los Blancos 1-0 up less than three minutes into the second half, and while they could have added to their advantage, it was often a case of backs-to-the-wall to prevent the hosts from equalising at the other end! Prats and Nastasic both saw close-range chances go amiss for Mallorca, while Darder's long-range volley was only kept out by the fingertips of Lunin, though that being said, Madrid did limit Mallorca to 0.56 xG while accumulating 1.58 at the other end. Bellingham, Diaz, Valverde and Vinicius all had guilt-edge opportunities for Madrid that were either saved by Rajkovic or blocked off the goal-line, as Los Blancos collect three more points to go nine clear of Barcelona with seven games remaining! Mallorca's six-point buffer to the bottom three remains intact, and following that performance they've got more than enough to still be in LaLiga next season, a season which as things stand, looks like having Real Madrid as its defending champions.
