Queens Park Rangers will now focus on a second successive win to be achieved against Luton Town in the Monday’s Championship match to be played at Loftus Road.

For the visitors, the players will be willing to pitch a positive result after they have been on a three-match losing streak.

QPR have been quite good to beat in the past having won 5, drawn 4 and lost only 1 in their last 10 games.

The only reverse in that stretch came on Boxing Day when Marti Cifuentes’s team was blown away 3-0 in their match at Swansea City.

QPR was to draw with in their last game of season 2024/2025 against Norwich City, then they were to start the new year with a 3-1 against Watford thanks to goals from Michael Frey, Jimmy Dunne and Sam Field.

That result saw them register their fourth successive home victory which is always a big achievement for a side that was struggling to register home league wins this season, they only managed to record their first home league win in the tenth game of the season.

QPR’s good form at home has going some way in easing their relegation worries, with the R’s currently placed at 16th on the Championship table and seven points clear of the relegation places.

The R’s will attempt to increase that margin in Monday’s clash when they hope to defeat the Hatters in the league for the second time this season after their 2-1 loss last August.

Luton are struggling to avoid facing consecutive relegations, mainly because the Hatters are currently entrenched in the 20th position on the table and are only two points away from the dangerous zone.
Rob Edwards’ team will enter the games with low morale having lost four out of the last five fixtures and losing their last three on the bounce.

After suffering back-to-back away losses to Swansea and Bristol City at the end of 2024, the Hatters narrowly lost to Norwich on New Year's Day.
Luton's six-game unbeaten home run came to an end in the 73rd minute when Marcelino Nunez scored the game-winning goal.

The Hatters are now concentrating on Monday's trip to Loftus Road after suffering their first home loss since October. The visitors are hoping to snap a nine-game losing streak away from home since defeating Milwall in September.

Despite defeating QPR 3-0 on their most recent league trip to Loftus Road in December 2022, Luton has lost four of their past five away league games.

The injured Steve Cook, Liam Morrison, Zan Celar, and Karamoko Dembele are still not available for the hosts to use.

Midfielder Lucas Andersen, who sustained an injury in the draw with Norwich at the end of December and missed the victory over Watford, may also be sidelined for QPR.

On the other hand, defender Ronnie Edwards, who arrived on loan from Southampton on New Year's Day, might be included in the matchday squad.

After getting sent off in the 12th minute of Wednesday's home loss to Norwich, Jordan Clark will need to be evaluated.

Joe Johnson, a full-back, and Liam Walsh, a midfielder, are both free to go to Loftus Road after serving one-game and four-match suspensions, respectively.
