Real Madrid move one step closer towards a 36th LaLiga title, beating Cadiz 3-0 at the Santiago Bernabeu thanks to a trio of second-half goals, despite generating an expected goals of 2.23, compared to the visitors' 0.89. Ancelotti’s side dominated the opening period but had little to show for it as the two teams entered the break goalless, but that was set right just six minutes after the restart, with Diaz wriggling free of four defenders to curl an impressive strike past the outstretched palm of Ledesma. The Merengues would take just 17 more minutes to double their advantage, with Bellingham only on the pitch for 120 seconds before redirecting Diaz's cross past Ledesma and over the line; the second goal-contribution of the game for the Morocco international. Pellegrino’s offered little in the second half, registering a single shot on target despite a number of attacking changes, with the visitors unable to turn defence into attack at a quick enough rate to trouble Militao and Nacho. They were shown how it’s done late in the match, with Vinicius and Nacho flooding down the pitch following a Courtois save to set Joselu up for a close-range tap-in to add a third to their score. The win sees Real Madrid go 14 points clear of Barcelona at the top of LaLiga ahead of a midweek meeting with Bayern Munich in the Champions League, before travelling to play Granada in LaLiga on May 11. The loss keeps Cadiz in 18th - five points from safety - before returning home to host Getafe on May 12. That concludes our commentary of the LaLiga fixture between Real Madrid and Cadiz - we hope you’ve enjoyed it!
