Arsenal dealt with Premier League title blow VS Manchester City when Mikel Arteta least expected it.
Arsenal's chances of an upset have been dashed after Wolverhampton Wanderers' head coach Gary O'Neil has been handed a touchline ban for Wolves' crucial title match against Manchester City.
If Arsenal wants to win the Premier League without having control over the point totals, they will need assistance. Even if they win their final three games, City still has four games left to accumulate 12 points in order to retain their title and prevent the Gunners from winning it for a second straight season.
Even while Arsenal supporters aren't really holding out much hope for their opponents from north London, City still has some difficult games left, one of which is a trip to Tottenham. On the other hand, the matches against Wolves this coming weekend and West Ham on the last day of the season provide more hope.
Despite a loss to Manchester City in east London earlier in the season, West Ham has collected 13 points against the "Big Six" teams. Wolves, meanwhile, has won 15 of its 'Big Six' games, including an unexpected 2-1 victory over Manchester City.
However, that optimism has taken a slight knock as Wolves' outstanding head coach Gary O'Neil received a sanction that will be implemented when they play Guardiola's team this weekend. The Football Association has immediately imposed a one-match touchline punishment on the former Bournemouth boss.
The penalty is due to the fact that the player was deemed to have behaved improperly during the West Ham loss up to five games ago. For the Gunners, who will be annoyed that the result arrives at such a crucial juncture in the season, the timing couldn't be worse.
According to the Telegraph, O'Neil called the judgment "scandalous" and "horrendous" after a VAR check disqualified Max Kilman's stoppage-time equalizer. O'Neil even went up to referee Tony Harrington in the official's room. This was the inappropriate and/or threatening behavior and language in and around the match official's changing room.
