Mykhailo Mudryk: Despite failing a drug test, Enzo Maresca trusts the Chelsea forward and thinks he is innocent.

After Mykhailo Mudryk was given a provisional suspension by the Football Association for failing a drug test, Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca is confident in his player's innocence.

Due to the positive test result for the illegal substance meldonium, Mudryk could potentially be banned for up to four years under FA Rules.

The Ukraine international said he had "not done anything wrong" in a statement he issued shortly after the news broke. His manager has since addressed the issue, saying he believes in the winger and will help him through the process.

Prior to Thursday's Europa Conference League game against Shamrock Rovers, Maresca stated, "Now the situation is a bit more clear, in terms of the statement, there is nothing to add."

"Everyone on the training pitch, including the coaching staff and the club, will be behind him.

"Overall assistance. We have faith in him; you must stand behind the player in situations like these. It is my responsibility to stay in touch with him because he plays for Chelsea and is a member of the team. All of us are present.

"This is not the first instance of this happening. We believe and support him because he knows precisely what he needs to do, and it will happen again for other players."

Upon being asked if he thought Mudryk was innocent, Maresca responded, "Yes, exactly, it is like this. Mycha's words.

"We all think [Mudryk] is innocent, but we'll find out [later]." Although we are unsure of the exact time, I believe he will return.

The athlete, who passed a drug test in August and hasn't altered his diet since, claims the sample was tainted, prompting Chelsea to begin their own inquiry into the situation.

According to FA regulations, a player must be placed on temporary suspension following notification of a positive test before a formal charge is decided. Mudryk has the chance to explain the outcome during this time.

He is reportedly distraught by the news and is presently enrolled in an individual training program at home, away from Cobham.

Mudryk is family, Tosin says.
Tosin Adarabioyo, the defender for Chelsea, was also questioned about the Mudryk story. where he acknowledged that the team learnt about it at the same time as the rest of the football community and that they would treat him like family.

He remarked, "It was news to all of us," "You and I learnt about it at the same moment. We back him.

"He is a member of our family, but there isn't much we can do about it. Since there is a possibility, we must exercise prudence and take preventative measures."
