Al Hilal is prepared to spend £100 million to get the Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes, making him one of the highest paid players in the world.

Miguel Pinho, Fernandes' agent, has been in Riyadh to speak with high-ranking Al Hilal officials.

Insiders in the Saudi Pro League think that Pinho's visit to Saudi Arabia is encouraging for Al Hilal.

Al Hilal are offering to almost quadruple Fernandes' £250,000-a-week earnings at Old Trafford.

Amorim: It seems to me that Fernandes wants to stay at Manchester United.

Although head coach Ruben Amorim thinks his captain wants to continue at Old Trafford, it is now up to the player to decide what he wants to do.

"I do not think so," Amorim said in response to a question about whether Fernandes had featured in United's 3-1 friendly victory against Hong Kong.  Although no one knows for sure, I don't believe so.

"He is saying 'no' to a lot of things, which indicates that he wants to win and that he is very talented and deserves to be in the world's best league. I believe he wants to stay."

"Yes, we can decline a bid of £100 million; we can find another source of income.

"Of course, I am the coach and manager, but occasionally the player makes the decision. Nevertheless, I talk to him, I explain things, and I just feel that way.  You can tell if someone wants to stay when you chat to him.

He was obviously very irritated during many of the games this season, but he understands what we're doing.  Every time I talk to him, I get the impression that he wants to stay at Manchester United.  However, you never know.

Al Hilal feels that every player has a price, especially one who will turn 31 in September, but United wants to keep Fernandes.

Last summer, the Portugal international agreed to a contract extension that would take him through 2027 with a one-year option.

Al Hilal is prepared to relocate Ronaldo.
Cristiano Ronaldo, who will become a free agent next month if he does not sign a new contract at Al Nassr, has also been discussed by Al Hilal.

When Al Hilal competes in the Club World Cup in the United States in June, they anticipate having a new head coach and at least one high-profile addition.
