According to The Athletic, Bruno Fernandes expressed his wish to stay at Old Trafford at their meeting with Manchester United last week on his future. The club has made it obvious that they want him to stay.

At the club's Carrington training facility, Fernandes and his group met with members of United's football leadership team. During their in-depth discussion, it was made clear that the INEOS-led administration intended to keep developing around its 29-year-old captain.

The Portugal international wanted to know if United's goals aligned with his own, which is to be a key member of a successful and competitive team in the new sports structure.

Fernandes cannot be fully ruled out in the event that he is not satisfied or if a huge offer comes in that United must accept financially. He will want to see proof that this is possible.

But it seems that everyone left the discussions with the impression that his questions had been well addressed, and it is highly anticipated that he won't be departing.
