Arsenal to reveal first summer addition "soon" following victory over Real Madrid in the battle.
Arsenal is very close to making their first transfer acquisition of the window under Mikel Arteta, but if a deal materializes, the manager of the Gunners will have a difficult choice to make ahead of the start of the EPL.
Joan Garcia, the star of Espanyol, is expected to sign a contract with Arsenal, making him their first summer acquisition.
This summer, several English clubs have been connected to the Spanish goalkeeper, who is now playing for Real Madrid, one of the biggest teams in Spain.
The Gunners, however, seem to have prevailed in the competition for Garcia's services, and they want to make an announcement about his coming soon. Spain-based publications claim that the 23-year-old will join Arsenal "soon."
Garcia played for the Spanish team past season, making 21 games across all competitions as they were promoted to La Liga. Towards the close of the campaign, he was questioned about his future but didn't comment on any possible moves.
Garcia remarked, "I have always felt the love of the fans." It makes me quite delighted to have company. And as for that aspect (transfers), please be calm and supportive. I'm really good here. Don't worry about it.
In the event that Garcia signs a contract with Arsenal, manager Mikel Arteta may have to make a difficult choice. David Raya, who joined the Emirates on loan from Brentford last season, is anticipated to finalize a £27 million permanent transfer.
"Those conversations are for after the season," Arteta stated, alluding to a move for his countryman at the completion of the current campaign. We'll assess our current situation.
"It goes without saying that we are extremely pleased with David and everything he has contributed to the team and the club. However, we at the club make those decisions together, so we'll see."
Aaron Ramsdale's future at the Gunners is also in doubt. After Raya arrived last term, he was no longer competitive.
He has been linked to a move; earlier reports claimed Newcastle and Arsenal had reached an agreement for the former Bournemouth and Sheffield United player to sign. It seems that they are currently focusing on James Trafford of Burnley.
