Currently, there's a five-point gap between these top-ranking teams in the table. However, Rangers have two postponed games yet to play, giving them a chance to catch up to Celtic.
Celtic faced setbacks against Kilmarnock and Hearts earlier this month but have revived their title pursuit with consecutive wins against Livingston and Dundee, scoring a total of 5 goals in these matches.
Their recent 3-0 victory over Dundee, following a 2-0 win against Livingston, showcased their dominance, with Mikey Johnston's brace complementing Paulo Bernardo's opener. Brendan Rodgers lauded his team's mindset, work ethic, and energy, especially their impressive 38-goal attempts and 74% possession against Dundee. However, replicating this performance against an in-form Rangers team might pose a challenge.
While Celtic haven't won two of their last four home league games, they remain undefeated in their last five meetings with Rangers at Parkhead, triumphing in the last two matches with a combined score of 7-2.
A win on Saturday would not just grant Celtic bragging rights in Glasgow but also extend their lead at the top by eight points, making it impossible for Rangers, even with their pending games, to surpass them.

The recent scheduled match against Ross County at home was postponed due to adverse weather conditions on the A9, preventing Ross County from traveling to Glasgow, despite the playing surface at Ibrox being in good shape. This delay has given Clement and his team additional rest before their upcoming crucial game against Celtic.
In their previous encounter three months ago, Celtic secured a narrow 1-0 win at Ibrox through a first-half goal by Kyogo Furuhashi. Rangers have struggled in recent Old Firm derbies, managing to win only one of the last 11 matches against Celtic. However, their strong away record offers promise as they have won seven and drawn one of their last eight Premiership away games, conceding only two goals – the fewest in the league – since their 1-0 loss at Kilmarnock on the opening weekend of the season.
Cameron Carter-Vickers, a Celtic defender, had to leave the Dundee game due to hamstring tightness, but the manager, Rodgers, is optimistic about his recovery for upcoming matches. Odin Thiago Holm might miss out due to illness, while Liel Abada and Reo Hatate are nearing a return from hamstring injuries but may not be back until the New Year, along with James McCarthy and Tomoki Iwata, who also have hamstring and unspecified injuries, respectively.
Johnston, who scored twice as a substitute recently, is vying for a starting position in the team's attack, potentially replacing either Daizen Maeda or Luis Palma. Furuhashi is likely to continue leading the frontline, having scored four goals against Rangers in his last three games.
As for Rangers, Connor Goldson's availability is uncertain due to a groin injury sustained against Motherwell. Various players, including Jose Cifuentes and Tom Lawrence, are dealing with muscle injuries, while Danilo, Nicolas Raskin, Steven Davis, Kemar Roofe, John Lundstram, Ryan Jack, and Borna Barisic are all sidelined due to different issues.
If Goldson is unavailable, John Souttar might partner with Leon Balogun in central defense, while Ridvan Yilmaz and James Tavernier are expected to continue as full-backs. Dujon Sterling might retain his midfield spot alongside Todd Cantwell and Kieran Dowell. In attack, Ross McCausland, Cyriel Dessers, and Abdallah Sima are the likely starters, with competition from Sam Lammers, Scott Wright, and Rabbi Matondo for a place in the starting lineup.
