Chido Obi-Martin delivers a message to Manchester United by scoring a 15-minute hat-trick.

After joining Manchester United's Under-18 team from Arsenal in the summer, Chido Obi-Martin required just 15 minutes of his full debut to score his first hat-trick.

The youthful striker left Arsenal after failing to reach an agreement on a new contract, despite attracting attention with his incredible goal total in North London. After a charm attack persuaded him to relocate north, Manchester United jumped in, but they had to wait for the agreement to be approved.

On October 19, he made his eagerly anticipated debut against Sunderland, however after coming off the bench in the second half, he failed to put himself on the scoresheet. On Saturday, however, things were different against Nottingham Forest.

With less than five minutes remaining, the 16-year-old doubled the lead after opening the score against Forest within a minute. With less than a quarter of an hour remaining, he made it three as United won 6-0.

Obi-Martin demonstrated his preparedness for the game with his first goal. Before he could easily round Forest custodian Keehan Willows and tap home, he grabbed a loose backpass.

About four minutes later, Obi-Martin scored a low shot into the bottom corner after Forest was unable to clear their lines, making the score 2-0. A minute later, the keeper stopped Willows from adding a fourth goal, but the striker had little chance for the third either after meeting a cross from James Scanlon to tuck the ball low into the back of the net.

Scanlon and Amir Ibragimov both scored goals for United's youth team to increase their lead before halftime. The game was won, but Jim Thwaites had time to add a sixth late on. Obi-Martin was among several players pulled at halftime.

Obi-Martin, a Denmark youth international who is also eligible for England and Nigeria, was finally granted United's transfer request in September. He had already hinted at his departure on social media by posting a picture of himself with club icon Eric Cantona.

At the beginning of October, he posted on Instagram, "Very happy to sign with this amazing club, time to focus and achieve all my dreams," when the transfer was confirmed. "Thanks to everyone who has helped me get this far."

The adolescent was welcomed to Old Trafford by United youngster Toby Collyer, but his former Arsenal academy teammates also sent supportive messages. He received well wishes from Maldini Kacurri and Yabsera Meron, as well as a playful "about time" note from Samuel Lusale, his new United teammate.
