Dean Huijsen becomes the Cherries' youngest Premier League goal scorer as Bournemouth defeats Tottenham 1-0.

The hosts had 21 shots on goal throughout the game, more than in any other Premier League game this season, and Ange Postecoglou approaches Spurs supporters at the final whistle.

Dean Huijsen becomes the Cherries' youngest Premier League goal scorer as Bournemouth defeats Tottenham 1-0.

Following a well-earned 1-0 victory at the Vitality Stadium thanks to a header from Dean Huijsen, Bournemouth overtook an increasingly disorganised Tottenham in the Premier League.

At the final whistle, Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou was accosted by irate fans. He later disclosed that he had gotten "pretty direct feedback" after the team suffered its seventh defeat in 11 away Premier League games.

After 17 minutes, Huijsen, who is 19 years and 235 days old, met Marcus Tavernier's corner to become the Cherries' youngest-ever Premier League goal scorer.

It could have been a more devastating setback for Spurs, who drop to 10th place in the rankings after their sixth loss of the season. Ryan Christie hit the frame of the goal, and VAR wiped down Evanilson's shot for offside.

As a result, Postecoglou has only won one of his last six games, and it has been less than two weeks since he saw his team defeat champions Manchester City 4-0.

Even though Spurs have now dropped nine of their previous thirteen away Premier League games, Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola doesn't now need to worry about this inconsistency as his team has risen to ninth place with 21 points.

Bringing home another victory for Bournemouth

Iraola told Amazon Prime: "We had obvious chances in the second half and were fortunate to finish the job, but there was a point in the game where you said that they would punish us if we didn't kill them.

"We had clear opportunities in the second half and were lucky to complete the task, but there was a point in the game where you said that they would punish us if we didn't kill them," Iraola told Amazon Prime.

"The end of the season is too far away still to be setting a points target."

In two of their last three home games, Iraola's team had defeated title contenders Manchester City and Arsenal. As Spurs endured yet another defeat in a patchwork season thus far, Spain U21 international Huijsen scored another scalp for the south coast.

This was a well-earned triumph that ought to have been more cosy. Christie struck the woodwork, while Tottenham's lack of bite prevented them from taking advantage of other opportunities.

Spurs' sole victory in five games in all competitions before to the journey to Dorset was a 4-0 thumping of champions Manchester City in their last away match.

The north London team got off to a strong start, as Dominic Solanke wasted a shot after being freed by stand-in captain James Maddison after the recalled Dejan Kulusevski shot directly at Cherries custodian Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Ange: I received some rather candid criticism.

After breaking the impasse, the Cherries remained the bigger threat even though Tottenham continued to dominate possession.

Fourteen minutes after the first goal, Tavernier had the ball in the net but it was obviously offside. Fraser Forster then punched away a close-range header from Milos Kerkez's cross.

Postecoglou chose not to make any changes at halftime despite Tottenham's deficiencies, but aside from a Heung-Min Son goal that was disallowed for offside, Spurs put on an even worse second-half performance.

"We weren't good enough," Postecoglou declared. "We gave up a really bad goal, got a little lost, and let Bournemouth play the way they wanted to. Despite our best efforts, we failed to score in the second half.

"When we should be controlling games, we just have this tendency to shoot ourselves in the foot.
