Harry Kane attempted to STEAL Cole Palmer's debut goal for England, and Southgate revealed that HE asked to be substituted for a penalty.

On his first start for England, Cole Palmer maintained his perfect record of scoring penalties, even though Harry Kane was itching to replace him and take over his spot-taking responsibilities!

Harry Kane attempted to STEAL Cole Palmer's debut goal for England, and Southgate revealed that HE asked to be substituted for a penalty.

Palmer, a top player for Chelsea, broke the tie against Bosnia with a 12-yard shot after VAR called an apparent shirt-tug on Ezri Konsa.

Regular scorer Kane, who has scored 13 goals in 13 games for his team this season, was getting ready to replace Palmer when Palmer was waiting for his spot-kick.

The Bayern Munich player was attempting to persuade his manager to activate him in time to take the penalty, as manager Gareth Southgate disclosed after the game.

"He had the audacity to ask to come on and score the penalty, which was never going to happen," Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate remarked.

Soon after entering the game, Kane scored, netting his 63rd goal for his nation four minutes after Trent Alexander-Arnold's exquisite volley had doubled the lead.

Palmer, however, was the player of the match who attracted the most attention, increasing his chances of being included in Southgate's starting eleven as well as the Euros team.

"He showed moments of what he's about," Southgate stated. Naturally, this is his first start with us.

"There will be more as he settles in with the group, and we can give him the ball when he needs it."

He is capable of playing several positions. He's had a tremendous season, so there's no reason he can't make a significant contribution for us.

In his first season at Chelsea, Palmer scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists in the Premier League this season. His goal on his third cap was an additional addition.

When asked if he had done everything he could to secure a seat on the flight to Germany, the Manchester City summer addition, who cost £45 million, said, "I hope so."

"I didn't play my best game tonight.

"I'm hoping to go to Germany; it's been a long season and my first start for England."

This was Kane's first appearance since leaving the game due to a back injury during Bayern's thrilling loss to eventual Champions League winners Real Madrid in the semi-final last month.

However, he appeared in good shape during his debut at St. James' Park, and he believes the others could contribute this summer.

When asked if his country will see a completely healthy Kane at the European Championship, the former Tottenham star said, "I believe so."

"I don't take long to become focused, so having a goal helped me rediscover that feeling."

"I feel good. We didn't want to take any chances with it because the end of the season was largely a precautionary measure with a busy summer ahead of us,"

Impressed by his captain's level of fitness, Southgate said that he will start Friday against Iceland in the tournament's last warm-up match at Wembley.

"Our plan was 30 minutes, and he will start on Friday," Southgate continued. Having trained all week, he appears in good shape and should have no issues.

Alexander-Arnold, a star for Liverpool, attracted attention as well. He started the match in midfield and ended it at right-back, scoring his third goal for his nation.

He had more touches than any other player with 121, and his passing was impressive against a resolute Bosnian defense.
