Harry Maguire is not part of the final England squad for EURO 2024.
Harry Maguire has declared that he was left out of England's selection for the 2024 European Championship.
After initially choosing 33 players in a provisional group, England manager Gareth Southgate will declare his 26-man team for this summer's tournament in Germany on Saturday.
Harry Maguire: "I am heartbroken that I was not chosen to represent England in the summer European Championship."
"I have tried everything to get over my calf problem, but I have not been able to conquer it. Perhaps I overexerted myself in an attempt to succeed. I am just really devastated.
"Being an England representative is the greatest honor for me." To me, it is everything. Along with the rest of the nation, I will support the squad as a fan if I am unable to contribute to them as a player. Boys, go win it.
"After that, I'll go back to working under the guidance of the #mufc medical team to get ready for next season."
Due to an injury, Maguire, who has 63 caps after making his senior England debut against Lithuania in 2017, was unable to participate in United's FA Cup final victory over Manchester City last month.
Earlier on Thursday, the Football Association verified that James Maddison of Tottenham and Curtis Jones of Liverpool had also been excluded from the team.
Southgate's final team must be submitted to UEFA by 11 p.m. on Friday. The 26-man roster will be revealed on Saturday morning.
England's first Euro 2024 encounter is scheduled for June 16 at Gelsenkirchen against Group C rivals Serbia. On June 20, they will play Slovenia, and on June 25, they will play Denmark.
