Joao Palhinha has made a permanent move from Fulham to Bayern Munich.
According to Sky in Germany, Bayern will pay Fulham £47.16 million (€56 million) plus add-ons for the 29-year-old. If confirmed, this transaction would make the Premier League club's history's most expensive sale.
Palhinha will remain at Bayern until 2028 after agreeing to a four-year contract.
Tony Khan, the owner of Fulham, stated: "We've reached an agreement today that could result in the highest transfer negotiation in club history, with these resources coming in at an essential time in our summer squad planning for the season ahead and our long-term future."
Palhinha will cost more to transfer than Aleksandar Mitrovic did to join Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal in the summer of last year.
The summer transfer involving the Portugal midfielder and Bayern failed on deadline day.
"Joao Palhinha was already highly regarded at FC Bayern last summer - and rightly so!" stated Max Eberl, sporting director of Bayern. It was crucial that we stay in constant communication.
"Joao is a player we need at FC Bayern, and he truly wanted to be here. He is a crucial component of our future.
"He brings a wealth of experience with him, having participated in a World Cup, a European Championship, and nearly 300 competitive games in the Portuguese and English leagues. He has once again shown his abilities on a big stage at the European Championships." He'll provide us with even more central stability."
