Martin Odeegaard discusses the most recent injury news for Arsenal and highlights Liverpool's "changes."

Martin Odegaard has stated that he will not be able to play against Liverpool on Sunday at the Emirates Stadium. The captain of Arsenal has also discussed the difficulties his injury-plagued team will encounter in this weekend's Premier League game.

Seven players are either out or uncertain for Arne Slot's table-topping Reds' visit, including Odeegaard, who hasn't played since August 31 due to a significant ankle injury sustained while playing for Norway on international duty last month.

Since taking over in the summer when the great Jurgen Klopp left, Slot has guided Liverpool to seven wins from eight league games and 11 triumphs from 12 games across all competitions, setting a club record.

With three more points on Sunday, the Reds would be seven points ahead of third-place Arsenal, whose undefeated league campaign ended last Saturday when they lost 2-0 at Bournemouth following the dismissal of outstanding centre-back William Saliba.

"These are the games we love to play, and I'm sure all of you are going to be really fired up. We're expecting a top atmosphere inside the stadium," Odegaard wrote in the Gunners' matchday program.

"The challenges in our last two games have been different. Even though we didn't play to our full potential after losing to Bournemouth and then displaying good spirit by winning the Champions League match against Shakhtar (Donetsk), I believe the team is committed to putting on a strong show, raising the bar and reaching our full potential.

"Everyone is eager and prepared to leave. We know that against Liverpool, we must perform to the best of our abilities.

Naturally, they have had a fantastic start to the season and are bursting with self-confidence. I watched their match against Chelsea last weekend, and we faced them in preseason. It seems to me that they have changed a little from their performance under Jurgen Klopp.

Saliba is suspended for the Reds' visit, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kieran Tierney are hurt, fellow defenders Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber are seriously doubtful, and important winger Bukayo Saka is also struggling to stay healthy.

In addition, Odegaard provided an update on his condition, saying, "I've been away for a few weeks and have been making every effort to return as quickly as possible. Although I haven't been participating in the games lately, I feel like I've still been able to make good use of that time, as I mentioned in my notes on Tuesday.

"I have to admit that my days haven't changed all that much from before. They are also long days, and I continue to spend every day at the training ground. Because I've been working with our fantastic medical and fitness staff and spending a lot of time in the gym, I normally feel fairly exhausted afterward.

"I've been attending the preparatory meetings and actively participating since I wanted to be informed about what's going on as well. However, it's clear that matchdays have changed; I've been able to spend more time at home and obtain crucial recuperation periods because I've been travelling less.

"I'm hoping to emerge from this phase stronger, more rested, and prepared for the remainder of the season. That's the goal now; focus on the good and make the most of this moment. I'm confident I'll be feeling great when I return."
