Fulham 0–4 Man City: Josko Gvardiol scores twice to put the City ahead and get closer to winning the Premier League trophy.
If Arsenal loses to Manchester United on Sunday, City may win the title on Tuesday night.
Manchester City's 4-0 victory over Fulham, led by Josko Gvardiol's double, placed them atop the standings and much closer to a fourth Premier League title in a row.
Two victories will be sufficient to secure City's fourth championship in as many years, but if Arsenal loses against Manchester United on Sunday, they might win the league as early as Tuesday against Tottenham.
With their easy victory over Fulham in the capital, City surged up to the top of the division for the first time in nearly a month and came dangerously close to creating even more history.
Gvardiol skipped past Issa Diop to slot home the game's first chance after 13 minutes, with City eminently comfortable keeping the hosts at arm's length. After taking 57 minutes to score their first goal, Phil Foden's 20-yard scuffed goal put Fulham under 2-0 in a matter of seconds.
Gvardiol's second goal of the day crawled under Bernd Leno, guaranteeing Manchester City's return to the top of the Premier League. However, an injury-time red card for Diop and a penalty for Julian Alvarez compounded the hosts' misery.
