"It is a joke". Ten Hag on the possibility of manchester united selling most of their squad this summer:
Erik ten Hag has called claims claiming the majority of Manchester United's roster is for sale this summer "jokes" and "untrue." Ten Hag didn't comment on Jadon Sancho's future, but he did say that transfer targets would still want to play for the team even if they weren't playing in the Champions League.
According to media sources this week, Ten Hag's team will be going through its first summer transfer window under new owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe and his INEOS company. The majority of United's roster, including attacker Marcus Rashford, is reportedly for sale this summer.
Even while he acknowledges that the team needs to be improved this summer, Ten Hag shot back at the rumors in a statement delivered prior of United's Monday Night Football match against Crystal Palace.
Ten Hag responded to the rumors by saying, "It's a joke! It is false that 200 players have had interest from Manchester United every summer while I have worked here. We investigated a little.
"Every player on our team is sold in the summer. which is not accurate. When you take such a headline, maintain composure and accept accountability. It's completely c**p."
When asked what he needed to do this summer, the Dutchman said, "There's always a lot of work to be done. This is typical when you enter a window for transfers. The injuries that United sustained this season had a significant effect.
"We remain behind Manchester United's expectations in terms of performance. We must thus catch up. I'm about to enter my fifth window; two went well, and two were missed. In the summer, we have to implement fresh upgrades. This squad has a very strong foundation. Our season was significantly impacted by injuries."
