Liverpool confirms their agreement to sign a Bayer Leverkusen defender.
Liverpool satisfied the 24-year-old's €35 million (£29.5 million) release clause, and Jeremie Frimpong, who can play both right-back and winger, joined from Bayer Leverkusen, where he finished the previous Bundesliga season with five goals and six assists.

The signing of Bayer Leverkusen's Jeremie Frimpong by Liverpool has been confirmed.
The 24-year-old's €35 million (£29.5 million) release clause has been activated by the Premier League winners.
Frimpong will sign a six-year contract, and Liverpool will pay the price in three installments. Although all parties have already reached perfect agreement on every facet of the deal, the transfer will be finalized when the window opens on Sunday.
Arne Slot, the manager of Liverpool, thinks highly of the right-back, who can also play as a winger.
The Netherlands international scored 14 goals and provided 12 assists in 47 games in all competitions for Leverkusen, which won the German domestic double in 2023–24. He also contributed five goals and 12 assists in 48 games last season.
The potential value of Celtic's sell-on clause is around £5 million. In January 2021, Frimpong left Celtic for Leverkusen in a transaction that might have cost up to £11.5 million.
In September 2019, Frimpong left Manchester City's academy to join Celtic for £300,000.
Frimpong, however, is not being signed to take Alexander-Arnold's place. Frimpong can play anywhere on the right side of the pitch, and Liverpool already has other options at right-back.
By bolstering their team, making spots even more competitive, and giving head coach Arne Slot more tactical options, Liverpool hopes to build on their Premier League triumph.
The Reds are also getting ready for Mohamed Salah's anticipated appearance at the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held in Morocco this winter.
Because of his stint with the Netherlands national team, Frimpong is already familiar with Cody Gakpo, Ryan Gravenberch, and Virgil van Dijk.
For fifteen years, Liverpool has kept an eye on Frimpong and nearly signed him to their academy.
As Liverpool prepared for life without Alexander-Arnold, 21-year-old Conor Bradley signed a new four-year contract and finished the season as the team's first-choice right-back.
"I spoke to the manager a few times, and he sounds very positive," Frimpong remarked in an interview with the club's official website. He claims that I can contribute a lot of energy, along with my speed and talents.
"You feel quite certain that a boss believes in you, especially when he speaks well of you. He and I have had some fruitful discussions.
"I can't wait to collaborate with Arne Slot." I heard some of the Feyenoord boys say things like, 'He's the best coach I've ever had,' even when I was on [the] national team. such like this.
"So, I've heard nothing but positive things about the coach. I'm thrilled that he will now serve as my coach.
